"Cuban Twitter" Secretly Created by US to Overthrow Castro

The U.S government created a secret social media platform aimed at taking down Cuba's communist government. The plan was to launch a “Cuban Twitter” using cellphone text messaging to evade Cuba's strict control of information and internet regulation. But while the US sees controlling social media as a powerful tool to taking down regimes overseas, it wouldn't like to see technology have that same effect in America.
