Description of video playing:
NPR Morning Edition (for Tue Aug 20, 2013) filed a report following California agents confiscating guns “one by one” by using gun registration records. But what does it feel like to have loaded guns put in your face, be arrested and your guns confiscated? Joe Mendez was a victim of the program on Aug 7, 2013 and he posted a YouTube video describing what happened with surveillance footage.
Mr. Mendez also talks about how he reported a meth lab in the hotel complex but was told that they didn’t have enough money to deal with it. But even in the midst of a budget crisis, California Governor Jerry Brown can find $24 Million more dollars to double the size of the program. And a bill is in Congress to provide funds for other states to follow this model.
